Seahorses, Fish, & Beach Scenes

This week, MHS students are creating artwork for Walton County's ArtsQuest art show. The theme this year is beach scenes and/or Mother's Day related imagery. The Kindergarten and 1st graders will be reading the story, Mister Seahorse by Eric Carle and drawing/watercolor painting a seahorse "mommy" or "daddy" and "baby." The second grade will be reading the story, The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister. The 2nd graders will then draw a "mommy" or "daddy" fish and then a "baby fish." The 3rd graders will continue to practice for their Spring musical, "Good Manners." The 4th and 5th graders will be painting a beach scene or a beach sunset landscape using watercolor paints. In music, students are reviewing voice parts, rounds, canons, melodic motifs, and rhythm patterns. Go Mustangs!
